How does Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief work to ease pain?                            Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief contains an active ingredient called diclofenac diethylammonium, which is one of a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), This means it works by changing how your body responds to pain, easing pain and inflammation in your joints and muscles in the process. This makes it ideal for muscular pain and back pain.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?                                                  If you’re within the first 6 months or pregnancy or are breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. If you’re breastfeeding, you should not use this product on your breasts or on large areas of skin. Do not use Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief gel if you are within the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may harm your child or cause problems during childbirth.

Can I use this product if I’m using any other medication?                                                If you’re using any other medication, including those you obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Voltarol gel. You should not use this product if you are already taking diclofenac tablets or any other NSAIDs, such as aspirin or ibuprofen.

How to use this gel                                                                                                              Squeeze a small amount of Voltarol gel from its tube and apply to the affected area 3 – 4 times a day. Slowly rub the gel into the skin for best results. The amount of gel you need to use may vary, but you will usually find that an amount that is the same size as a 1p or 2p coin will be enough. Leave at least 4 hours between each application, do not apply more than 4 times in any 24-hour period, and do not use for more than 7 days unless told to by your doctor. Wash your hands after use, unless your hands are the area being treated.

When should this gel not be used?                                                                                  Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief gel is not suitable for use in children under the age of 14. Do not use this product if you are allergic to diclofenac, any other NSAID painkillers, or any of the other listed ingredients. This product can increase the flammability of any fabrics it comes into contact with, be sure to change dressings, clothing, bedding, and any other fabrics used around this product regularly. Stay away from naked flames and do not smoke while using this product. For external use only, do not use in the mouth, eyes, or any other sensitive areas. Do not use on skin that is affected by a rash or eczema, cuts, or open wounds. Avoid applying this product on large areas of skin over a prolonged period of time, unless your doctor advises you to do so. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you:                                                                                            Are planning on sunbathing or using sun lamps, as your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight                                                                                                                              Have ever had asthma                                                                                                            Have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, or have ever had these           

Does Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief gel have any side effects?                            Like all medications, Voltarol Back and Muscle Pain Relief can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects, you may be experiencing a severe allergic reaction, and should stop using this product and speak to your doctor or pharmacist immediately:                                                              Skin rash with blisters, hives (itchy red rash)                                                                    Wheezing,                                                                                                                        shortness of breath,                                                                                                          feeling of tightness on the chest                                                                                  Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

How to store this product                                                                                                Store in a cool, dry place which is below 30 degrees C. Do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
