What are Panadol Night Pain Tablets?
Panadol Night Pain Tablets are the perfect solution for easing the aches and pains that keep you up at night. They help to relieve pain and make you feel drowsy, allowing you to fall into a pain-free sleep. The tablets are ideal for anyone struggling with pain that is causing them temporary insomnia.

How Panadol Night Pain Tablets work
Panadol Night Pain Tablets contain two active ingredients: paracetamol and diphenhydramine. Paracetamol is a painkiller which works by blocking chemical messengers in your brain when you have pain. Diphenhydramine is a drowsy antihistamine that makes you sleepy, helping you fall asleep more easily.

Directions
Always take Panadol Night Pain Tablets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you. Take 2 tablets with water 20 minutes before you go to bed. Do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours. Do not take these tablets for more than 1 week.

What are the side effects?
Like all medicines, Panadol Night Pain Tablets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects of this medication may include:

• Drowsiness, sedation, unsteadiness, dizziness or tiredness

• Blurred vision

• Difficulty concentrating

• Dry mouth

• Feeling restless or excitable

• Confusion

• Tingling sensation in the skin

• Muscle twitching
  If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

What are the serious side effects?
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking this medicine straight away and seek medical advice immediately:

• Chest tightness or thickening of phlegm

• Difficulty passing urine and headaches

• An upset stomach with nausea and vomiting

• Breathing problems

• Seizures or difficulty with muscle coordination

• Changes in heart rhythm

• Unexplained bruising or bleeding

• Recurring fevers or infections

• Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite and yellowing of the skin and eyes

When should Panadol Night Pain Tablets not be used?
Panadol Night Pain Tablets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have porphyria. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:

• Have kidney problems

• Have liver problems, including alcoholic liver disease

• Have epilepsy or seizure disorders

• Have an obstruction in your gut or stomach

• Have difficulty passing urine

• Have narrow-angle glaucoma

• Have an enlarged prostate

• Have myasthenia gravis

• Have asthma, bronchitis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

• Have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars

• Have a severe infection

• Are severely malnourished

• Are severely underweight

• Are a chronic alcohol user

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking Panadol Night Pain Tablets. You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:

• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

• Tricyclic antidepressants

• Beta-blockers (used to treat heart problems)

• Metoclopramide or domperidone (used for nausea and vomiting)

• Metoprolol or venlafaxine (used to lower blood cholesterol)

• Dicycloverine (used to treat stomach cramps)

• Hyoscine (used for travel sickness)

• Medicines used to treat anxiety or help you sleep

• Medicines that make you drowsy or give you a dry mouth

• Anticoagulants such as warfarin

• Painkillers

Age restrictions
This product is unsuitable for anyone under 16 years old.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Alcohol
Do not drink alcohol while you are taking Panadol Night Pain Tablets.

Driving and operating machinery
This medication causes drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
