Gaviscon Tablets are chewable tablets which can help to ease heartburn and acid reflux. Simply chew and swallow these tablets after meals and before bed to ease that irritating heartburn, any time, anywhere. These chewable tablets are available in delicious strawberry and peppermint flavours and are suitable for anyone over the age of 12.
Heartburn is a common condition that’s actually a symptom of acid reflux. Lots of people experience heartburn or acid reflux, and although it usually isn’t anything serious, it can be really annoying. Some of the most common symptoms of acid reflux that you may experience as well as heartburn include:
Gaviscon Chewable Tablets contain three active ingredients, sodium alginate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and calcium carbonate. These ingredients work by acting as ‘reflux suppressants’, which means that they form a protective layer over the contents of your stomach, including stomach acid. This keeps stomach acid from moving up your food pipe and irritating its lining, tackling acid reflux symptoms at their source.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you will be able to take Gaviscon Tablets. However, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product at this time.
If you are taking any other medications, you should not take Gaviscon Tablets within the 2 hours after you’ve taken your other medication. You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Gaviscon if you are taking any other medications, especially the following:
When you experience heartburn or acid reflux symptoms, take 2 – 4 tablets after each meal and before bed time. You don’t need water to take these tablets, just chew and swallow. If your symptoms haven’t improved after 7 days, speak to your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended daily dose.
Children under the age of 12 should not take Gaviscon Tablets unless they have been advised to do so by a doctor. Do not take this product if you are allergic to sodium alginate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, calcium carbonate, or any of the other listed ingredients. Each four-tablet dose of this product contains 11.08mmol (254.84mg) of sodium and 3.2mmol of calcium. If you are following a low sodium (salt) diet, or suffer with significant kidney or heart disease, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. This product contains 8.8mg of aspartame in each tablet, if you have phenylketonuria (PKU) speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.

Store in a cool, dry place which is below 25 degrees C. Store in original packaging, and do not use if expiry date on packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
