Dermol Cream is a treatment for dry skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis. It soothes and protects your skin, hydrating dry skin and easing itching and irritation. You can use Dermol Cream as an emollient or in place of your soap or shower gel to protect your skin from irritants in regular soaps.
Eczema is a dry skin condition where you’ll experience areas of dry, itchy, irritated skin. Many people experience eczema, especially children who can grow out of eczema as they grow older. Some of the most common places where people experience eczema include:
Dermol Cream contains four active ingredients which work together to ease dry skin conditions such as eczema. The first two are benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, which are antimicrobial ingredients. This means that they kill bacteria that can irritate dry skin conditions and reduces the chances of infection if you scratch when you have a flare-up. The second two active ingredients are liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate, which are emollients. This means that they form a protective barrier over dry skin that keeps moisture locked in and irritants out.
Dermol Cream isn’t known to interact with any other medications at this time. However, if you are taking other medications, especially those applied to the skin, be sure to speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Dermol Cream can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but you should always speak to a medical professional before using a new medication at this time.
You can use Dermol Cream as a leave-on cream or as a substitute for soap or shower gels:
Do not use Dermol Cream if you are allergic to benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate, or any of the other listed ingredients. If you have very sensitive skin, remember to test a small amount of this cream on a small patch of skin to check for reactions before using this product. This is especially important if you’re treating small children or skin on the face. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes. If you are using this product as a soap substitute when in the bath or shower, bear in mind that this cream can make surfaces slippery and take care not to slip over. This cream contains paraffin, which is an effective emollient but can increase the flammability of any clothing, dressings, or other fabrics it comes into contact with. Be sure to avoid coming into contact with naked flames, lit cigarettes, or other sources of the ignition while using this product, and remember to change clothing or dressings regularly.
Like all medications, Dermol Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects then you may be experiencing a severe allergic reaction. Stop use and seek medical help right away:
