Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup provides you with relief from a cough and congestion whilst enabling you to have a restful night's sleep.
Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup contains the active ingredients diphenhydramine, guaifenesin and levomenthol.
Diphenhydramine is a drowsy antihistamine. It works by reducing coughing, clearing congestion and helping you sleep.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It loosens phlegm, making it easy to cough up.
The final ingredient, levomenthol, helps to make breathing easier by relieving congestion.
Always take Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you.
Take 2 x 5ml spoonfuls up to 4 times a day.
Like all medicines, Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Do not take Benylin Mucus Cough Night Relief Syrup if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) in the last two weeks.

This product is not suitable for children under 12 years old.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
This medication can cause you to feel drowsy. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
This product is a medicine; make sure to speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you have an underlying medical problem or are taking any other medicine or complementary therapy.
