Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon is a treatment designed to relieve the symptoms of a chesty cough.

It comes in a delightful honey and lemon flavour, making it easy to take.

 

How Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon works

Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon contains the expectorant guaifenesin, which helps to loosen mucus from the lungs, making coughing it up easier.

 

Directions

Always take Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor /  pharmacist has told you. 

Take 10ml of the syrup 4 times a day. Do not take more than 4 doses (40ml) in 24 hours.

 

Side effects

Like all medicines, Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include: 

 

  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhoea 
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

 

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

 

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

 

Warnings

Benylin Mucus Cough Max Honey & Lemon may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if: 

 

  • You have had a cough for more than a week
  • Your cough recurs and is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache
  • You have a cough that is caused by asthma 
  • You have a cough, which brings up a lot of mucus
  • You have liver or kidney problems

 

Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.

 

Age restrictions 

This product is not suitable for anyone under 12 years old.

 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine. 

 

Storage information

Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
