Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray reduces inflammation caused by hay fever and other allergies.
It can help with the symptoms associated with allergies, such as a runny or blocked nose, sneezing and an itchy nose.

How Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray works
Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray contains budesonide, which belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. It works by reducing and preventing inflammation.

Directions
Always use Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you.
Use the spray before you come into contact with something you are allergic to.
The recommended dose is 2 sprays in each nostril in the morning. If your symptoms improve, you can reduce this to 1 spray in each nostril in the morning.
You can also use 1 spray in each nostril, morning and evening. If your symptoms improve, you can reduce this to 1 spray in each nostril in the morning.
Do not use more than 2 sprays in each nostril per day.
Shake the bottle and remove the protective cap. Put the tip of the nozzle into your nostril and spray. Repeat in the other nostril.

Side effects
Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:
Nasal irritation
Nose bleeds
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Warnings
Benacort 64 mcg Nasal Spray may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if:
You have an infection of your nose or sinuses
You have had recent nose ulcers or nose surgery
You have a nose injury that hasn’t healed properly
You get heavy or frequent nose bleeds
You have tuberculosis (TB)
You have a chest infection, chicken pox or measles
You have ever had glaucoma or cataracts
You have an eye infection
You have diabetes
You have liver problems

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medicines:
Medicines to treat fungal infections e.g. itraconazole or ketoconazole
Antibiotics e.g. clarithromycin
Corticosteroid medicines e.g. eczema creams, inhalers for asthma, tablets, injections, nasal sprays, eye or nose drops

Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for anyone under 18 years old.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any new product.

Driving and operating machinery
In rare cases, this product may cause temporary blurred vision. If you are affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.

Storage information
 Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Discard this product 8 weeks after opening it.
