How Beechams Powders Cold & Flu Relief works
Beechams Powders Cold & Flu Relief contains two active ingredients. They contain aspirin which belongs to a group of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Aspirin relieves pain, reduces inflammation and lowers your temperature.
The sachets also contain caffeine, which acts as a stimulant.

Directions
Always take Beechams Powders Cold & Flu Relief exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you.
Mix the powder with water and stir before drinking.
One sachet should be taken every 2 to 4 hours. Do not take more than 6 powders in 24 hours.

Side effects
Like all medicines, Beechams Powders Cold & Flu Relief may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. High caffeine intake can cause nervousness and dizziness. If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Warnings
Beechams Powders Cold & Flu Relief may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
You have had asthma or shortness of breath in response to aspirin before
You suffer from high blood pressure or heart disease
You have ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding of the stomach
You have blood clotting disorders or have ever had gout
You have liver or kidney disease

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.
You should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are on the following medications:
Methotrexate
Anti-coagulants
Blood pressure lowering treatments
Oral hypoglycaemics
Medications for treating gout (e.g. probenecid, sulfinpyrazone)
Painkillers (e.g. ibuprofen or other NSAIDs)
SSR antidepressants (e.g. fluoxetine)
Treatments for epilepsy (e.g. phenytoin, valproate)
Beta-blockers
Diuretics
Steroid hormones
Antacids

Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for children under the age of 16.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Food and drink

Drinking alcohol at the same time as taking this product might increase the risk of bleeding.

Driving and operating machinery

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
