Beechams Flu Plus - 16 Caplets provide you with effective relief from the symptoms of the cold and flu.

How Beechams Flu Plus works
Beechams Flu Plus contains 3 active ingredients. The first ingredient is paracetamol, a painkiller that reduces your temperature when you have a fever.
The second ingredient is phenylephrine hydrochloride which helps to unblock your nose and sinuses, allowing you to breathe more easily.
The final ingredient in Beechams Flu Plus is caffeine. Caffeine works as a mild stimulant and helps with fatigue and tiredness.

Directions
Always take Beechams Flu Plus exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you.
2 caplets can be taken every 4-6 hours as required. Do not take more than 8 caplets in a 24-hour period.
Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.

Side effects
Like all medicines, Beechams Flu Plus may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
Raised blood pressure
Headaches
Dizziness
Difficulty sleeping
Nervousness
Anxiety
Diarrhoea
Sickness
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Warnings
Beechams Flu Plus may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these caplets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
You have kidney or liver problems
You have an overactive thyroid
You have diabetes
You have high blood pressure
You have heart disease
You have pheochromocytoma
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
You have a blood vessel disease such as Raynaud's phenomenon
You have an enlarged prostate
You have heart or circulation issues
You have a severe infection as this might increase your risk of metabolic acidosis

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist.
You should talk to your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:
Metoclopramide or domperidone for nausea
Ergotamine or methysergide for migraines
Cholestyramine to lower blood cholesterol
Drugs to lower blood pressure
Appetite suppressants or stimulants
Drugs to treat depression such as tricyclic antidepressants (e.g. amitriptyline)Drugs to treat heart disease (e.g. digoxin)Anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin)

Age restrictions
These caplets are not suitable for anyone under the age of 16.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Food and drink
Avoid high-caffeine drinks such as tea and coffee while taking these caplets.

Driving and operating machinery 
This medication can cause drowsiness. If you are affected, avoid driving until you feel safe enough to do so.

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
