Actifed Multi-Action - 12 Tablets are designed to relieve the symptoms of colds, flu and allergies.

How Actifed Multi-Action works
Actifed Multi-Action contains the decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride that relieves nasal and sinus congestion. The product also contains triprolidine hydrochloride which is an antihistamine. It helps to stop sneezing, runny noses and watery eyes.

Directions
Always take Actifed Multi-Action exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / pharmacist has told you.1 tablet should be taken every 4-6 hours. You can take the tablet up to 4 times a day. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than the recommended daily allowance.

Side effects
Like all medicines, Actifed Multi-Action may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
Difficulty sleeping
Nervousness
Dizziness
Difficulty performing tasks
Drowsiness
Blurred vision
Dry mouth
Nausea
Thickened mucus
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Warnings
Actifed Multi-Action may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
You have high blood pressure or heart disease
You have diabetes
You have a pheochromocytoma
You have an overactive thyroid gland
You have glaucoma
You have severe kidney problems
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
You have kidney or liver problems
You have alcohol dependence
You have bronchitis, emphysema or asthma
You are susceptible to glaucoma
You have blocked arteries or veins
You are being treated for a thyroid disorder
You have difficulty with passing water or an enlarged prostate

Using/taking other medicines
Talk to your GP or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medication, including medication obtained without a prescription. Talk to your doctor if you are taking the following medication:
Hypnotics (used for sleep, including barbiturates)
Opioid angelistics (used to relieve pain e.g. morphine, codeine)
Antipsychotics (used to treat mood disorders)
Sedatives (to treat anxiety and depression)
Anticholinergic drugs (to treat cramps or spasms e.g. atropine)
Antihypertensives (to treat high blood pressure)
Tricyclic antidepressants (used to treat mood disorders)
Moclobemide (used to treat mood disorders)
Cardiac glycosides (used to control heart rhythms or contractions)
Ergot alkaloids (used to treat migraines e.g. ergotamine)
Oxytocin (used to help contractions during childbirth)

Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for anyone under the age of 12.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Driving and operating machinery
This medication can cause drowsiness. If you are affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe to do so.

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
